IRIDESCENT CLOUDS are quite rare.

Many factors need to coincide for this natural phenomena: thin clouds in higher altitudes, ice crystals or very small water droplets of nearly uniform size that diffract the sunlight, the sun must be in the right position and mostly hidden by thick clouds.
